City-Residence GmbH – the company’s history

1988
Foundation of the company under the name City Mitwohnzentrale by the owners Guido Anders and Martin Bernemann. The business purpose is the brokering of furnished apartments for interim leases. For this purpose, business premises in Klingerstrasse, near the Konstabler Wache in Frankfurt, are rented.

1992
Relocation to larger business premises on the Staufenmauer, also in Frankfurt city center. The digitalization and the successive use of the Internet contribute to high annual growth rates in sales and brokerage, so that further surrounding business premises have to be rented. The number of employees rose to over 20 in the following years.

1996
Opening of a branch in Mainz for the cities of Mainz and Wiesbaden.

2000
The City Mitwohnzentrale GbR is converted into City-Residence GmbH. The managing partners are Guido Anders and Martin Bernemann.

2001
Relocation to new, modern business premises on Hansaallee in the Westend. The stock market boom at the turn of the millennium, internet euphoria and the changeover of the economy to digitized processes are causing demand for furnished apartments to peak. In the following years, business normalized and the number of brokerages stabilized at a high level. The number of employees is around 30.
In the following years, City-Residence GmbH consistently improved the presentation of rental properties on the Internet. The photographic recording of all apartments is expanded and the homepage is gradually expanded into an easy-to-use marketing channel for furnished rental properties. A huge database on the living environment and the districts leads to the further optimization of the apartment presentations.
Services that serve the faster and better marketing of apartments are being further professionalized.


2010
Expansion of competencies in advice on investments and furnishing. Establishment of a department for the sale of apartments and houses.

2013
The branch for Mainz and Wiesbaden is taken over by the branch manager there.

2015
Establishment of a furnishing department that offers the concept and implementation of full or partial furnishing.

2017
Independent development of new communication tools and databases to improve the flow of information between tenant, landlord and agency. High quality HDR photography is set as the standard.

2019
Participation in the conception and development of furnished apartments and flats in new construction projects. Increased range of rental properties in the premium segment.

2020
Establishment of a technical service department: repairs, installation of technical devices, minor renovations.

2021/03
Move to new and modern office space at Hansaallee 154.

Heute
Leading agency for the brokerage of furnished apartments and commercial properties in the Frankfurt area.
The agency's management remains with the company's founders, Guido Anders and Martin Bernemann.
