| General character: "Niederrad" and "Schwanheim" including a small settlement named "Goldstein" are set in the southwestern region of Frankfurt. A pile of completely different buildings can be found in Niederrad while its center reveals a lively and somehow idyllic atmosphere. Some high-rises in the North, post-war buildings in the West as well as some generous villas in the South frame Niederrad. Comparably moderate prices create the popularity of living in Schwanheim especially among families while Niederrad rather attracts several employees either from the city or from the closely connected airport. A pure office complex out of town named the "Bürostadt Niederrad" has been laid out around here in the Seventies. Thousands of employees gather in the area between Schwanheim and Niederrad during the daytime while the weekends just as the evenings remain silent. | |
| Sights: Niederrad hosts a large number of important sports grounds and gained special significance from the "Waldstadium", where weekly soccer games take place and have a strong attraction for masses of spectators on the weekends. The rather exclusive audience enjoys the 18-hole golf course located in the cities public forest or even the racecourse recently surrounding a golf course as well. The extensive public forests serves as Frankfurt's main greenbelt recreation area even though arriving flights tend to disturb the pleasure of nature. | |
