District Portrait:
Westend (population 28.000) is traditionally one of the more upscale districts and neighborhoods of Frankfurt. The Bockenheimer Landstrasse and the Grüneburgweg are the two main streets of this area. The residential buildings are mainly located in quiet streets within this district. Impressing office buildings have been developed around the area of the Opernplatz, where the former opera house is located. The area offers a variety of cafés and excellent restaurants. In the northern part of this district you will find the Grüneburgpark, a large park with many trees and jogging routes. Located west of the park is the Palmengarten, which also has a park area as well as a botanical garden. The Frankfurt fair is located south of this district. The spacious University Campus is also located here and is well worth seeing.
