District Portrait:
Europaviertel (expected population 10.000) is a newly established district of Frankfurt and is currently the largest inner-city development area. The development was planned in 1996 and the last construction sites around the Europagarten will now soon be finished. This district borders with the Gallusviertel in the south, the Frankfurt fair in the north, the Güterplatz in the east and the suburbs in the western areas of Frankfurt. The Europaallee is the main street connecting the different areas of this district. Within the next few years the route of the U5 (underground train) will be extended in order to provide further public transportation to this district. The development mainly consists of apartment buildings with 6 or 7 floors. Around the Europagarten high-rise buildings with modern apartments have been and are being built.
